Why Saving Money Important

Why studying BYU pathway connect I've learned the secret in saving Money. I don't know who makes this statement but I think he has a point to teach us particularly in saving Money.

I hope to record this statement in my blog to recall this for me and my family to do.

The statement goest like this:

The Secret to Saving Money
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has. –Proverbs 21:20

Saving money is not a matter of math. You will not save money when you get that next raise. You will not save money when that car is paid off. You will not save money when the kids are grown. You will only save money when it becomes an emotional priority.
We all know we need to save, but most people don't save like they know they need to save. Why? Because they have competing goals. The goal to save isn't a high enough
priority to delay that purchase of the pizza, DVD player, new computer, or china cabinet. So we purchase, buy, consume all our dollars away or, worse yet, go into debt to buy these things. That debt means monthly payments that control our paychecks and make us say things like, "We just don't make enough to save any money!" Wrong, wrong, wrong! We do make enough to save money; we just aren't willing to quit spoiling ourselves with our little projects or pleasures to have enough left to save. I don't care what you make—you can save money. It just has to become a big enough priority to you.
If a doctor told you that your child was dying and could only be saved with a $15,000 operation that your insurance would not cover and could only be performed nine months from today, could you save $15,000? Yes! Of course you could! You would sell things, you would stop any spending that wasn't required to survive, and you would take two extra jobs. For that short nine months, you would become a saving madman (or madwoman). You would give up virtually anything to accomplish that $15,000 goal. Saving would become a priority.
The secret to saving? Focused emotion. The secret to saving money is to make it a priority, and that is done only when you get some healthy anger or fear and then focus that emotion on your personal decisions. Harnessing that emotion will make you move yourself to the top of your creditor list. Then ask yourself, "Which bill is the most important? After tithing, who should I pay first this month?" The answer is you! Until you pay God first, then yourself, then everyone and everything else, you will never save money.
The advertisers and marketing community are affecting our emotions every day and taking every dollar we have by making us see our wants as needs. It is time for this to stop! Emotions make great slaves, but they are lousy masters. No matter how educated or sophisticated we are, if we are not saving all we should be, we are being ruled by emotions, not harnessing them as financial planning slaves.
So whether you are saving for college tuition, a trip to the family reunion, new school clothes for little Bobby or Sally, or anything else, start saving now! It's never too late!

Matt Jason Llanera

One of the predicted baby in our family. The wife of my brother inlaw give birth to a healthy boy named Matt Jason Llanear on August 25, 2019. The date of his birth is similar to my daughter Elaizah Kim Llanera Cuyasen

Ate Rose Llanera is already at her 40's and we were happy for her and the baby. She gave birth at Cebu Doctors Hospital

  • Looking forward to his growing up years. We prayed that he will be strong and be prepared to battle for the worldly cares. We hope that he will also be a bearer of the Priesthood, blessing and helping people in the coming days. I believe this will bring happiness to his life and to his family in the future.

Cebu Solar Eco House

Last month we have move to a new house in Talamban, Cebu City. It is the house of a successful person in terms of business and political aspects.  We have moved last July 28, 2019 and it is almost a month and I need to write something about the place.

Solar 2 Eco House in Cebu
The place is very beautiful. It has 3 rooms in it and it has a functional airconditioned system. The house is powered by Solar and we're happy to know about it. The house when we arrive needs to be cleaned and fix. Some plumbings are broken and it is fixed by the plumber of the owner.  We've moved here due to the car parking issue. We've like the place because there are good plants planted nearby and you can also do farming.

Talamban Road Situation
Although we have a good house with good parking the road is quite busy in the morning.  Our experience in the morning going to the school of Elai is quite a challenge. We need to get out from our home at 6:20am or earlier to be able to be at Elai school on or before 7:15am.  Sometimes we use a motorcycle to go to school.

Self Entitlement

Self Entitlement is common to people.

I've learned a great lesson on this topic.

There are questions you could see if you're in this trap:

  1. Are you overly critical of others?  Do you look down on others?
  2. Is the word “deserve” used frequently in your vocabulary—as in “I deserve” or “I don’t deserve” this or that?
  3. Do you care too much about indicators of status and rank?
  4. If you are not recognized, or accorded a privilege, or blessed immediately after doing something good —do you hear a voice inside saying “What about me?” or “That is not fair”?
  5. Do you ever seek special treatment for yourself?  Does it happen often?

Arthuro Albano Jr - Necrological

Yesterday we have attended the necrological service for Mr. Arthuro Albano Jr. He had peacefully died early morning on June 10, 2019. Before he died he was able to talk with us, although the condition of his body are weak but still manage to talk with us in a few words. He still remember us and know us by name. His mind is still young although he suffer from leukemia at the age of 57.

One thing I'd like to put into this record is when her wife speaks to us during the necrological service in St. Peter, Mandaue. She spoke about her happiness because they had found the missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2015. The missionary where looking for a direction where they can pass unfortunately the we're directed to her. She talks with the missionary that there's no other way in that path either this way or that way. The missionaries take the opportunity to talk with her and luckily her mother told her to let them come in to the house because that is still from God. They had a good discussion with the missionaries.

Edna and his husband are seekers of truth. Although they were raised as a Christian with a belief of Catholic she still believe in God. Sometime she fells so empty after their church services. She felt that she need more understanding. She also told us that she want to make sure to understand life after death since we are getting older and the assurance that I have believe in God and followed his will.

Anyway during the time the missionaries are there, there are a lot of questions asked. She felt good about it because she learn many things. She ask his husband to participate in the discussion but refuses but she insist to let him read the book the missionaries gave her. After a while she saw that his husband had read the book. During that time on his husband (Arthuro Albano Jr) had attended the discussion with the missionaries.

They were invited to attend a Sunday service. She told his husband that they would try anyway nothing can be taken away with them since it is all from God. The first Sunday they had attended is very different, she told us that she felt different feelings about God and she learn more. Then they continue to attend Sunday service and discussions with the missionaries. They had completed the discussion and accepted the invitation to be baptized to make covenant with God. They had continue their journey learning about the importance of becoming a saints of God in this latter day.

She told us that even my husband died I know we will see each other again because of the covenant that we have made in the Temple of God.

Time Management Plan

As I was searching online. I came across a very instructive time management plan. I realized that some of the suggestion posted in this article are important. We need to organized our lives so we can manage our responsibilities.

We have the same time with all the people all around the world but one thing to understand that the difference between those who excel and those who merely exist is not the number of hours they have. It is how they they spend those hours.

I would like to requote the lesson I've learn from them.

These are the 10 steps for Time Management Plan

1. Planning and Setting Goals - I need to start the day with spiritual upliftment to get a good mood and be productive for the day. I need to make sure that my goal will be realistic and achievable for the day. My daily routine should not affect my goals but I need to make it better.

2. Daily Action Plan - I need to dedicate my time each day of the week to achieve my long term goals. In this case I will not deviate putting off the important goals I need to do in my life. I believe this will help me create a better schedule each day.

3. Delegate Responsibilities - One of the important aspect in my life to do. Sharing some of my responsibilities will help me manage my time better. I need to learn where I can delegate my task to make sure that my goal is being achieve for it timeframe.

4. Prioritizing Tasks - I need to be wise and to understand what level of importance to be done each day.  I need to list the most important task to be accomplished first on that time.  I will make sure that I have time for the most important tasks in my life.

5. Controlling Interruptions - If interruption occur I need to control them by managing my time and some of other interruption that can incur in your situation. I might turn-off my phone or limit my time watching channel in Youtube.

6. Create a Support System - I need to have a system that will tract my task each day. It should always be my forefront organizer to show up my task each day.

7. Improve Communication -  I need to improve my communication skills to let other people understand me better. If my communication is poor I might be misunderstood which will cause hours or days to be fix. I need to read books and other material needed to effectively communicate.

8. Build good Friends and Mentors - I need to make sure that I know my friends and mentors. They will help me learn things that I didn't know. They will help me in some other aspect in life where I don't need to wast a lot of time.

9. Team Work - Team work is a better way to accomplish more task in a minimal time. I need to create a team to share my task with them. I'll make sure that I will properly split the work with others where we can accomplish the goals needed to be done.

10. Technology Usage - I need to create a system or apps that will tract and organized my goals and task.

Tips How to Spend your Time

I've enrolled in Pathway Connect and I've learn how to balance time in this life.  These suggestion are shared by Elder M. Russel Ballard - one of the Apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

  • Think about your life and set your priorities. Find some quiet time regularly to think deeply about where you are going and what you will need to do to get there...Write down the tasks you would like to accomplish each day. Keep foremost in mind the sacred covenants you have made with the Lord as you write down your daily schedules...
  • Set short-term goals that you can reach. Set goals that are well balanced—not too many nor too few, and not too high nor too low. Write down your attainable goals and work on them according to their importance. Pray for divine guidance in your goal setting...
  • Study the scriptures. They offer one of the best sources we have to keep in touch with the Spirit of the Lord...
  • We must schedule time on our daily calendars for [sufficient rest, exercise, and relaxation] if we are to enjoy a healthy and balanced life. Good physical appearance enhances our dignity and self-respect...
  • My last suggestion is to pray often as individuals and as families...

I believe all of these steps are align to my goals. I need to itemized my goals and set schedule to accomplish theme.

I like the quote that President Thomas S. Monson shared about success and accomplishing Goals "The best definition of success I have ever found goes something like this: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Someone has said the trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never crossing the goal line.
I want to state here and now that wishing will not replace thorough preparation to meet the trials of life. Preparation is hard work but absolutely essential for our progress. The Lord urged: “Seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith” (D&C 88:118)."

Presiden Monson shared also one good poet from Emilie Poulsson

    Books are keys to wisdom’s treasure;
    Books are gates to lands of pleasure;
    Books are paths that upward lead;
Books are friends. Come, let us read.
